Ten Provisions on Fire Prevention and Explosion Prevention in Oil and Gas Tank Farms

 

1. It is strictly prohibited to operate oil and gas storage tanks at temperatures, pressures and liquid levels exceeding the limits, and to arbitrarily change the stored media.

2. It is strictly prohibited for operators to leave the site when manually draining water, switching tanks or loading and unloading vehicles in the oil and gas tank farm.

3. It is strictly prohibited to close the cut-off valves of safety valves of the in-use oil and gas storage tanks and to install blind plates in the pressure relief and discharge system.

4. It is strictly prohibited to deactivate the temperature, pressure, liquid level, combustible and toxic gas alarm and interlock systems in the oil and gas tank farm.

5. It is strictly prohibited to carry out hot work or enter confined spaces in the oil and gas tank farm without gas detection and without obtaining a work permit.

6. It is strictly prohibited for the floating roof of an internal floating roof storage tank to drop to the bottom during operation.

7. It is strictly prohibited to directly add substances of unknown properties or substances that can cause violent reactions into the oil and gas storage tank or the pipeline connected to the tank.

8. It is strictly prohibited to use non-explosion-proof lighting, electrical facilities, tools and electronic equipment in the oil and gas tank farm.

9. It is strictly prohibited for unqualified trainees and contractors without relevant qualifications to enter the oil and gas tank farm for work. Motor vehicles and external personnel are not allowed to enter the tank farm without permission.

10. It is strictly prohibited for the equipment and facilities in the oil and gas tank farm to be in an unfit condition or to operate with faults.
